Domaine Deiss Marcel

Domaine Marcel Deiss, located in Bergheim at the heart of Alsace, stands as one of the region's absolute references. Founded in 1947, the estate cultivates 32 hectares under biodynamic viticulture and distinguishes itself through the ancestral practice of complantation — the art of blending up to 13 Alsatian grape varieties in a single parcel to reveal the pure expression of terroir. Led by Mathieu Deiss, supported by his father Jean-Michel, the domaine produces wines of exceptional complexity and depth, from three Grands Crus (Altenberg de Bergheim, Schoenenbourg, Mambourg) and nine self-proclaimed Premiers Crus.

  • ALSACE GRAND CRU

The Alsace Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim 2008 from Domaine Marcel Deiss embodies Jean-Michel Deiss's visionary approach based on complantation: the field blend of thirteen traditional Alsatian grape varieties co-planted and vinified together to reveal the power of terroir. From an outstanding site with iron-rich clay-limestone soils rich in fossils, this dry white wine of remarkable complexity showcases a vintage where structure and minerality combine with notable freshness.
