Issan

Château d'Issan is a Third Classified Growth from the 1855 classification, located in Cantenac within the heart of the Margaux appellation, with a history dating back to the 12th century. Owned by the Cruse family since 1945, the estate is today managed by Emmanuel Cruse, with 52 hectares under vine in AOC Margaux planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The vineyard lies on an exceptional terroir of deep gravel, producing wines of remarkable elegance and finesse, embodying the historic motto engraved above the château door: Regum mensis aris que deorum — "For the table of kings and the altar of the gods".
