Château Leoville Poyferre

Château Léoville Poyferré, classified as a Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855 within the Saint-Julien appellation, has embodied viticultural excellence in the Médoc for over two centuries. Established in 1840 when Baron Jean-Marie de Poyferré gave his name to his share of the Léoville estate, the château now extends across 80 hectares of exceptional terroir, predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (61%), Merlot (27%), Petit Verdot (8%), and Cabernet Franc (4%). Owned by the Cuvelier family since 1920, the estate has established itself among the appellation's finest under the leadership of Sara Lecompte Cuvelier, who has continued since 2018 a quest for excellence combining tradition and modernity, with High Environmental Value level 3 certification.
