Domaine des Roches Neuves, founded in 1850 in Varrains, in the Loire Valley, spans 28 hectares across Saumur-Champigny for red wines and Saumur for whites. Taken over in 1991 by Thierry Germain, this iconic estate cultivates Cabernet Franc and Chenin under certified biodynamic practices since 2005, with some parcels ploughed by horse. Rated 3 stars by La Revue du Vin de France and 5 stars by Bettane+Desseauve, the domaine produces wines of remarkable purity, finesse, and tension, driven by the richness of its tuffeau limestone soils.
