Domaine Belargus

Domaine Belargus has embodied the renaissance of Anjou since 2018, a thousand-year-old terroir for Chenin Blanc. Founded by Ivan Massonnat on the former estate of legendary winemaker Jo Pithon, Belargus brings together 24 hectares farmed biodynamically across the finest terroirs of Anjou Noir: Quarts-de-Chaume Grand Cru, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon. The single-plot approach, inspired by Burgundy's climats, aims to reveal the quintessence of Chenin Blanc through a collection of dry and sweet wines of exceptional precision. From its very first 2018 vintage, the estate achieved 100 points from the Wine Advocate for its Ultra cuvée, establishing Belargus as one of the major revelations in the Loire.
