Domaine Jean-René Germanier, founded in 1896 in Balavaud in the Valais canton, stands as one of the leading references in Swiss viticulture. Led today by Jean-René Germanier and his nephew Gilles Besse, both trained oenologists, this 60-hectare estate in AOC Valais cultivates with passion the indigenous grape varieties of the region — Fendant (Chasselas), Petite Arvine, Amigne, Cornalin, Humagne Rouge and Syrah. A pioneer in organic viticulture in Switzerland with over 34 hectares certified Bio Suisse, the estate boasts more than thirty wines rated above 90 points by Robert Parker, including the prestigious Cayas Syrah Réserve and Clos de la Couta Heida.
