Massa Vecchia

Massa Vecchia is a pioneering natural wine estate in Italy, founded in 1985 by Fabrizio Niccolaini in Massa Marittima, in Tuscany's upper Maremma. On 6 hectares of vineyards at the foot of the Metalliferous Hills, the estate produces around 15,000 bottles annually from traditional Tuscan varieties — Sangiovese, Vermentino, Malvasia di Candia, Aleatico — vinified without any additives or added sulphites. Co-founder of the Vini Veri movement in 2003 alongside Stanko Radikon and Paolo Bea, Fabrizio Niccolaini has embodied for nearly forty years a radical vision of natural viticulture, crafting orange wines and reds of remarkable depth and authenticity.

The Sangiovese from Massa Vecchia 2019 is a red wine from Tuscany's upper Maremma, crafted by one of Italy's pioneering natural wine estates. Blending Sangiovese with a small proportion of Alicante, this wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged 30 months in oak casks. A confidential production of 1,800 bottles, unfiltered, expressing with authenticity the limestone and clay soils of Massa Marittima.
