Domaine Clusel Roch

Domaine Clusel Roch stands as one of the benchmark estates in Côte-Rôtie, farming 14 hectares organically certified since 2002 in Ampuis, in the northern Rhône Valley. Guillaume Clusel crafts refined Syrah from old serine vines through massal selection, alongside a rare Condrieu and wines from Coteaux du Lyonnais, all bearing the hallmark of exacting viticulture on the iron-rich micaschist soils that have made the appellation renowned.

Côte-Rôtie La Viallière 2017 from Domaine Clusel-Roch originates from the eponymous lieu-dit, first planted in the early 1960s in the northern part of the appellation. This red wine is crafted from old serines of Ampuis — the traditional Syrah clone — with a touch of co-planted Viognier, embodying the elegance and purity of an estate certified organic since 2002. The 2017 vintage, considered a great vintage in the northern Rhône Valley, delivers a refined wine driven by pronounced minerality and fine tension.
