Château La Gaffeliere

Château La Gaffelière is a historic estate in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, formerly classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé B until the 2021 vintage. Located at the southern foot of the Saint-Émilion slope, in the golden triangle between Pavie and Ausone, this 22-hectare property has belonged to the Malet Roquefort family since 1705, making them the oldest winegrowing lineage in the appellation. The vineyard, planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc across three distinct terroirs — limestone plateau, clay-limestone hillside, and siliceous slope foot — produces wines of remarkable elegance and finesse, driven by characteristic limestone minerality. Led by Alexandre de Malet Roquefort with consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt since 2004, the estate embodies a successful alliance between a millennial terroir and precision viticulture.
