Domaine Nicolas Rossignol

Domaine Nicolas Rossignol stands as one of the essential names in Burgundy, with around thirty appellations spanning approximately 20 hectares in the heart of Volnay and Pommard. Nicolas Rossignol, fifth-generation winegrower in Volnay, established his own estate in 1997 and has since developed a range of Pinot Noir of remarkable precision, balancing finesse with intensity. Inspired by biodynamics and driven by a constant pursuit of balance, he crafts wines that faithfully express the diversity of Côte de Beaune terroirs.

The 2011 Volnay 1er Cru Chevret from Domaine Nicolas Rossignol is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Volnay appellation, grown on a plot at the foot of the Caillerets. The vintage was vinified with 100% whole bunches, a choice the domaine stood behind in this precocious year. A dense, silky Côte de Beaune premier cru, rated 93 by Wine Enthusiast and 92 by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar.
