Domaine Balthazar

Domaine Balthazar is a benchmark estate in the Cornas appellation in the northern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1931 by Casimir Balthazar, the domaine now extends over 4 hectares of organically certified syrah. Led since 2002 by Franck Balthazar, nephew of the legendary Noël Verset, the estate crafts pure, traditional Cornas from emblematic parcels such as Chaillot, acquired from Noël Verset and planted in 1914.

The Cornas Cuvée Chaillot 2020 from Domaine Franck Balthazar embodies the excellence of traditional Syrah from one of the appellation's most revered terroirs. Sourced from century-old vines replanted post-phylloxera on the Chaillot lieu-dit, this wine from the northern Rhône Valley is distinguished by its depth, balance and authenticity, a faithful expression of natural winemaking and three generations of inherited savoir-faire.
