Domaine Villa Pierre Jean

Founded in 2009 by Pierre-Jean Villa in Chavanay, Domaine Pierre-Jean Villa has established itself as one of the leading estates in the northern Rhône Valley. Across 20 hectares now certified organic, the domaine extends its vineyards over major appellations on both banks of the Rhône: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage and the historic slopes of Seyssuel. Syrah, Viognier and Roussanne yield terroir-driven wines of exceptional finesse and depth, shaped by meticulous viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking. Now joined by his children Hugo and Pauline, Pierre-Jean Villa embodies a vision of wine founded on respect for the fruit and sincere expression of terroir.

Domaine Pierre-Jean Villa Fongeant 2018 is a Côte-Rôtie from the Fongeant lieu-dit, on the Côte Brune. Produced from Syrah planted in 1954, this wine expresses the mineral depth of a terroir of schist and gneiss. Whole-bunch vinification and 24 months' ageing in demi-muids shape a dense, spicy wine of great precision, recognised by international critics.
