Domaine Pilon Julien

Julien Pilon is a producer-négociant based in Chavanay, in the heart of the northern Rhône Valley. Established in 2010 without land or cellars, the estate has emerged as a rising star through a range of refined dry whites and appealing reds — Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Côte-Rôtie, Cornas — crafted with precision and finesse. Awarded one star in the Revue du Vin de France Guide Vert in 2022, Julien Pilon embodies a generation of winemakers bringing freshness and modernity to Rhône crus.

Côte-Rôtie La Porchette 2022 from Domaine Julien Pilon brings together two emblematic terroirs of the appellation: Bassenon in the south on granite and gneiss, and the Rozier plateau in the north on schist. Vinified with indigenous yeasts and one-third whole clusters, it ages 18 months in barrels, 30% new oak. This Côte-Rôtie from Syrah (99%) with a touch of Viognier (1%) reflects the exacting standards of an estate recognised by the Revue du Vin de France Guide.
