Falesco

Falesco, rebranded as Famiglia Cotarella in 2016, is a landmark estate straddling Lazio and Umbria, 80 kilometres north of Rome. Founded in 1979 by brothers Riccardo and Renzo Cotarella, two of Italy's most esteemed enologists, the estate spans 370 hectares of vineyards across volcanic and clay-limestone soils. Now led by the third generation—Dominga, Marta, and Enrica Cotarella—with Pier Paolo Chiasso as chief winemaker, Falesco embodies a rare balance between rescuing forgotten indigenous varietals like Roscetto and achieving international acclaim with Montiano, a cult Merlot.
