Catena Zapata

Bodega Catena Zapata is Argentina's most iconic wine estate, founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena in Mendoza. A pioneer of high-altitude viticulture and architect of the Argentine Malbec renaissance, the winery is led today by Dr. Laura Catena, fourth generation, a Harvard and Stanford-trained biologist and physician, who runs the estate alongside chief winemaker Alejandro Vigil. The Adrianna vineyard, located at nearly 1,500 metres elevation in the Gualtallary district, has received more 100-point scores than any other South American estate and was voted World's Best Vineyard in 2023.
