Domaine Vernay Georges

Domaine Georges Vernay, the iconic reference of Condrieu in the Rhône Valley, embodies the revival of Viognier and the appellation itself. Led by Christine Vernay, joined by her daughter Emma Amsellem since 2020, this 24-hectare estate, certified organic and biodynamic, produces white wines of exceptional purity from Viognier, alongside Côte-Rôtie Syrah reds recognised as among the appellation's most elegant. Flagship cuvées — Coteau de Vernon, Maison Rouge — rank among the pinnacles of the Northern Rhône.

Condrieu Les Chaillées de l'Enfer 2022 from Domaine Georges Vernay represents the pinnacle of Condrieu, a prestigious parcel selection from 50-year-old Viognier vines on granite terraces. Aged 12 to 18 months in oak barrels (25% new), this 2022 vintage transcends the hot, dry growing conditions to deliver a white wine of crystalline purity, both powerful and taut, saline and iodine-tinged.
